Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation Determined to Repeal Obamacare"
(Richmond, VA) - "The federal government has the power to tax Americans if they don't eat their sprouts and broccoli," said Mark Daugherty, Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation, Chairman. "The U.S. Supreme Court has determined that Obamacare is also Obamatax" added Daugherty.
The Tea Party which stands for Constitutionally-limited government urges complete repeal of Obamacare, and demands that Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, U.S. Senate candidate George Allen, and conservative Virginia congressmen to make repeal of Obamacare a top priority during their campaigns, along with cutting spending and debt, and getting more Americans back to work in free-market industries.
"The U.S. Supreme Court 5-4 decision takes America a big step toward European-style socialism and tax slavery." Mr. Daugherty said. "This national healthcare plan is unworkable and unaffordable, and will result in a massive tax increase for Americans," said Daugherty. "Obamacare conflicts 100% with the Tea Party principles of fiscal responsibility, Constitutionally-limited government and free-market principles."
Daugherty says, "We ask all Virginians who stand for a free Republic and Virginia sovereignty to contact their congressman and Virginia senators and demand that they stand up for low taxes, doctor-patient medical decisions, and free market solutions for healthcare. The process for full repeal of Obamacare must begin today."
"In addition, the Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation legislative committee is more determined than ever to seek passage of a healthcare compact so Virginia can design their own free-market healthcare system," added Daugherty.
"This ruling also reflects a fundamental change in the nature of how our government views its power to tax. The idea of a tax now changes from its historical position as the result of an action, to now being the causal stimulus for an action," Daugherty said.
The Virginia Tea Party Patriots Federation is a coalition of 40 independent Tea Party and patriot groups that stand for individual liberty with personal and fiscal responsibility, Constitutionally-limited government, and free market principles.
