The History of Sustainable Development
Connecting the Dots Presentation

Tuesday, April 12th 6 - 8pm

Kelly’s Tavern
1934 Coliseum Drive
Hampton, Va 23666

"As Governor McDonnell's plans for sustainable development, referred to as "sustainable communities", continues to gain momentum, it is worthwhile to step back and take a long look at the big picture, painted with a broad brush to reveal what Virginia might look like as his vision for the Commonwealth is more fully implemented over the next 20 years or so.

Donna Holt, Executive Director of VA Campaign for Liberty, will disclose the official documents published by countless government agencies and non-government organizations during the past two decades as public policy for the transformation of our great nation for a "Sustainable America".

These documents were rarely reported in the news, and average working people have no idea what sustainable development really means, and even less knowledge of what is in store for the future. If the vision of sustainable development continues to unfold as it has in the last decade, life in the Commonwealth and the rest of the nation will be quite different in the future."

More Info

The "Make It In America Now" program was developed by Tommy Jensen, owner of a U.S. apparel manufacturing company, out of his heartfelt concern for the future of this nation. He has experienced firsthand the economically devastating impact of our government's burdensome regulatory, taxation and globalization policies. Rather than encouraging domestic production, these policies have provided incentives and means for U.S. corporations to offshore and outsource jobs and essentially the livelihoods of millions of working Americans.

Our program consists of an educational component (approximately 45 minutes to one hour) followed by an open forum for participant discussion. The educational presentation will enlighten audiences on what our government is really doing about unemployment and job creation, how "free trade" policies have impacted our job situation, the real cost of "cheap imports" to our nation, and actions that we can take collectively and individually to help bring back jobs.

A legislative component, which is constantly updated, is also included to bring awareness regarding important bills that are under consideration and what they actually mean for the American people. It is vital for the public to be aware of what is really contained in these bills, as the media summaries and even the bill titles themselves can often be misleading. Immediately following the legislative summary, the floor is opened for questions and discussion of these important issues. Participants will be empowered with knowledge and armed with action items to help make changes and bring jobs and independence back to our country.

Our website, www.makeitinamericanow.com, is also available as a resource for your members to learn more about our mission. We are so grateful for the opportunity to share our program with your group.
